Rising college tuition costs have led several students from Minnesota State-Mankato to walk 100-miles to raise awareness. MSU Student Chair Joseph Wolf says graduating with thousands of dollars in debt is burdensome…
“I’m trying to find a job now but I do know that I have student loan payments to come up so….hopefully that job offer will be soon and.. I’ll be making enough to support myself and loan repayment.”
Wolf says the average student loan debt in Minnesota is nearly 32-thousand dollars for graduates with bachelor’s degrees…
“Just decreasing that number by a thousand or even a few thousand dollars would be great for students to have that relief when they get out of college …that they don’t have that burden on them.”
The group of eight students left Mankato Sunday and will arrive at the State Capitol on Wednesday to meet with lawmakers.
