In Minnesota, 122-thousand jobs are supported by the oil and natural gas industry. Marty Durbin is with the American Petroleum Institute and says “those are non service stations. These aren’t your gas station jobs.” He says the average annual salary for those jobs are about 80-thousand dollars. Which is about 28-thousand dollars more than the average salary in Minnesota. Durbin says Minnesota is also located in a producing region for oil and natural gas and has key pipeline infrastructure.
