(Rochester, MN) — A new survey from the Mayo Clinic confirms women are typically the health managers in their families–and they’re much more likely to be pro-active about their healthcare. The survey shows women were two times more likely than men to schedule cancer and other screening exams and less than 25% of the men surveyed were planning on scheduling those exams. Mayo Dr. John Wald says these types of screening exams are critical to disease prevention and the “National Health Check-up” survey shows that men need to take more responsibility for their own healthcare.
