The state is renewing its push to end homelessness with an updated two-year plan announced today (THU 11am). Minnesota Housing Commissioner Mary Tingerthal says the coalition plans to add five-thousand new housing opportunities for homeless or at-risk people by the end of 2020. And the state is newly committed to engaging with communities across the state, including Tribes, counties and cities to further help those in need. She says helping homeless veterans also remains a priority. Tingerthal says the updated plan also calls for a greater focus on preventing and ending homelessness for youth.
