Officer Jason Moszer
Fargo Police Chief Dave Todd has announced that a six-year veteran of the department, officer Jason Moszer, will not survive from gunshot injuries he suffered when responding to a domestic-type call Wednesday night. Todd, at a news conference shortly before 2am Thursday, said the injuries suffered by Moszer are not survivable. Todd said Moszer did not respond when dispatchers did a status check of the officers who answered the call around 7pm Wednesday. He said a resident saw an officer on the ground near his squad car in an alley. Moszer was rushed to nearby Sanford Medical Center where Todd said doctors determined that the six-year veteran of the force would not recover. Todd, who fought back tears during the brief news conference, said he contacted the officer’s wife and drove her to the hospital. He said Moszer’s family had gathered at the hospital. Police have not identified the suspect. They continued to surround the home into the early morning hours, with Red River Valley Regional SWAT officers and technical equipment. Officers from Grand Forks were also sent to the scene. Other assisting agencies include the Cass and Clay County Sheriff’s Department’s., North Dakota Highway Patrol, Minnesota State Patrol and North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
