There have been at least 200 road fatalities so far in Minnesota this year. Department of Public Safety officials say that each crash that led to these deaths is preventable and they’re urging motorists commit to safe driving habits. Distractions, drunk driving, lack of seat belt use and speed continue to be major contributing factors to fatalities on Minnesota roads. In 2015, 78 people died in speed-related crashes, there was a 21-percent increase in distracted-driving related deaths and 95 deaths were the result of drunk driving.
