The Big Ten announced Minnesota’s 2025 football schedule today, along with the other 17 schools in the conference.
Minnesota will open the season at home on Thursday, on August 28 against Buffalo. The Gophers will then host Northwestern State on September 6 before traveling to California for a road game on September 13.
Minnesota has a bye on September 20 before starting Big Ten play at home on September 27 against Rutgers. The Maroon and Gold will play their first conference road game of the 2025 season on October 4 at Ohio State.
Following the trip to Columbus, the Gophers will welcome Purdue to Huntington Bank Stadium on October 11 before a home game against Nebraska on October 18.
Minnesota hits the road for a rivalry game at Iowa on October 25 where the Gophers will look to reclaim Floyd of Rosedale.
Minnesota opens November with a home game against Michigan State on November 1 before a bye on November 8.
The Gophers head to Oregon for a November 15 game with the Ducks before playing Northwestern at historic Wrigley Field on November 22.
Minnesota will look to defend Paul Bunyan’s Axe when it closes out the regular season on November 29 with a border battle against Wisconsin.
Selected Saturday games in the 2025 season may be adjusted to select Fridays and other special dates, including Labor Day Sunday and Black Friday. The 2026 football schedule will be announced in the future.
