Steveson back on home soil (AUDIO/VIDEO)

(Bloomington, MN) — Gold medal winner Gable Steveson of Apple Valley returned home last night after he won the 125-kilogram freestyle wrestling title at the Japan Olympics. The 21-year old Steveson is a star wrestler for the University of Minnesota and added the gold medal to his amazing season. He had previously won the Big Ten title, the N-C-A-A championship, the Olympic Trials, and now the Gold Medal. Hundreds of fans showed up at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport to welcome the Olympic hero home.

Steveson says it was amazing to see the support and he stayed and signed autographs for most of the crowd that had gathered. He called it “an amazing feeling:”
