(Minneapolis, MN) — The 23rd-ranked Golden Gopher softball team will host number-19 Michigan in a key Big Ten series this weekend at Jane Sage Cowles Stadium. Minnesota and Michigan have not faced each other in the regular season since 2015. The visiting Wolverines lead the Big Ten this season with a 28-5 record, while the Golden Gophers are in second-place at 25-7. Gopher senior second baseman MaKenna Partain of Banks, Oregon says this is a big weekend and they have put together a good game plan to attack the Michigan pitching. Minnesota’s series last weekend against Wisconsin was canceled due to COVID concerns within the Badger program. The series opens on Friday night at 7 P-M, with a Saturday doubleheader starting at 1:30 P-M. Sunday’s series final begins at 2 P-M. All four games are scheduled to be televised nationally on the Big Ten Network.
