Twins release schedule for youth clinics all over Upper Midwest

May 10, 2022 By Minnesota News Network

Play Ball! Minnesota, a longtime initiative of the Minnesota Twins Community Fund, today announced its full 2022 Youth Baseball and Softball Clinics schedule. The program, which is presented in partnership with Great River Energy and got underway this past weekend, features 43 free baseball and softball clinics for children ages 6-12 in Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota.

Registration is available now at playballmn.com, with clinics available every weekend through August 14. Created in 1961 by longtime Twins scout Angelo Giuliani and held in collaboration with Minnesota youth organizations, the clinic program serves as a way for Play Ball! Minnesota to promote baseball and softball to children throughout the Upper Midwest.

Play Ball! Minnesota Youth Clinics are available to participants and communities free of charge, and are designed to spread the joy and fun of baseball and softball, while teaching all children the fundamentals of hitting, throwing and fielding. Play Ball! Minnesota instructors provide safe, youth-friendly equipment; however, participants are asked to bring their own gloves.

“For more than 60 years, Twins youth clinics have brought a love of baseball and softball to children throughout our region,” said Kristin Rortvedt, Executive Director of the Twins Community Fund. “We are proud to again partner with Great River Energy and these amazing communities to continue providing opportunities for all kids to play ball.”

Since the beginning of the program, more than 800,000 kids have participated in a Twins youth clinic; the summer of 2022 marks the 61st season of the program. The complete 2022 Play Ball! Minnesota Youth Baseball and Softball Clinic schedule is available by visiting playballmn.com.

(Please note that the schedule is subject to change; please check the Play Ball! Minnesota website or follow @TwinsCommunity on Twitter for the most up-to-date information.)
