Twenty-nine Minnesotans from a variety of backgrounds — elected officials, business owners, advocates, environmentalists, farm leaders, labor leaders and others — will serve on a special board to advise Governor-elect Tim Walz as he transitions into office. Lieutenant Governor-elect Peggy Flanagan will chair the panel and says, “Our hope is that Minnesotans across the state can see themselves reflected in this advisory board and know that they’ll be well represented in the conversations we’re gonna have going forward.”
Flanagan says the “One Minnesota Transition Advisory Board” will help the incoming administration recruit the best and brightest, plus “they’ll be helping us think through our vision for the budget… and most importantly, how to make sure that we’re engaging with the public across the state moving forward.”
Flanagan says the group will meet three times before she and Walz take office in January. Their first session is the Monday after Thanksgiving at the State Capitol.
