A 25-year prison sentence for one accomplice in the murder of a man from Aurora last January along the Mesabi snowmobile trail in northern Minnesota. Prosecutors say 21-year-old Anthony Howson drove the victim, 33-year-old Joshua Lavalley, and two other defendants to the area where the murder occurred. 18-year-old Deshon Bonnell then led a blindfolded Lavalley down the trail and killed him execution-style in retaliation for his behavior towards Bonnell’s girlfriend, 17-year-old Bailey French. She’s charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping. Bonnell pleaded guilty earlier to first-degree murder and was sentenced last month to life in prison with possibility of parole after 30 years.
