(St. Louis Park, MN) — The man who killed two people after crashing into the patio at Park Tavern in St. Louis Park last month has been granted supervised release into a sober living facility. 56-year-old Stephen Bailey is scheduled for release on October 24th, and his next court appearance is set for December 10th. The crash resulted in the deaths of 30-year-old Christina Folkerts and 56-year-old Gabe Harvey. Bailey faces two counts of criminal vehicular homicide and nine counts of criminal vehicular operation

(Wadena, MN) — Five men face federal drug charges after a major seizure in Wadena County. Officials seized 25 pounds of methamphetamine, three pounds of cocaine, and two and a half pounds of heroin, all estimated around $1 million in street value. Arrested and charged include Bill Rude, 62, and Robert Anderson, 38, both from Wadena; Aaron Heifort, 28, of Clitherall; and Carlos Valdovinos-Trejo, 27, of St. Paul. Another St. Paul man has been issued an arrest warrant.

(Live Oak, FL) — Two seasoned disaster workers from the Salvation Army Northern Division are on their way to Florida as part of a hurricane emergency response team. Dorothy Maples and Lt. Amanda Hines will spend at least two weeks in Live Oak, Florida, to relieve victims affected by Hurricane Helene. The organization reports the hurricane was over 500 miles across, impacting eight states and killing at least 133 people.

(Minneapolis, MN) — An Eagan woman has pleaded guilty to her role in the COVID-19 pandemic Feeding Our Future fraud scheme. The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 42-year-old Kawsar Jama set up fake Federal Child Nutrition Program feeding sites in Burnsville, Minneapolis, and Pelican Rapids, using false food invoices from an associate’s business to submit claims for reimbursement. Jama reported serving over 233,000 meals to children from the Pelican Rapids site between September and December 2021. Between 2020 and 2022, Jama submitted at least $4.5 million in false claims, some of which were spent on real estate and vehicles. She’s to be sentenced at a later date.

(Eagan, MN) — A 69-year-old man is dead after a workplace incident on a semitrailer in Eagan Monday. Police responded to the Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling plant around noon, learning the victim, Taylor trucking employee Jesse Murdock was alone and working on a semi-trailer when he was injured. Murdock injuries were fatal. The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the incident.

(Nelson, WI) — Two Minnesotan men are dead after a crash near Nelson, Wisconsin, Friday. Wisconsin State Patrol says around 10:30 a.m., a pickup truck heading north on Highway 35 in Buffalo County crossed the center line and hit three motorcycles in the oncoming lane. 59-year-olds Mark Holzer of Rochester and Brian Shank of Chatfield were pronounced dead at the scene. The third motorcyclist, a 69-year-old from Rushford, suffered minor injuries. The truck driver was unharmed.
