3M Open tournament officials announced four players, who own a combined 14 PGA TOUR career wins, have committed to compete in Minnesota’s only PGA TOUR event, scheduled for July 24-30 at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine.
Fargo’s Tom Hoge will be making his fourth consecutive start in Blaine, where he finished T4 last year and was also T23 in 2019. Hoge has one PGA TOUR victory, last year’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am. He also won the QBE Shootout in December with Sahith Theegala. Hoge, who is currently ranked 42nd on the FedExCup standings and 40th in the World, has four top ten finishes so far this season.
2014 FedExCup champion Billy Horschel will be making his first start in the 3M Open. He has seven wins on the TOUR, including last year’s Memorial Tournament, the 2014 TOUR Championship and the 2021 WGC—Dell Match Play. He is currently ranked 44th in the world and 114th in the FedExCup standings.
Following his runner-up finish to Tony Finau last year, Sungjae Im returns to the 3M Open with two career wins and two Presidents Cup appearances. He is currently ranked 22nd in the World and 34th on the FedExCup standings. The 25-year-old South Korean also finished T15 here in 2019. Meanwhile, Finau has already committed to playing in the tourney.
2019 U.S. Open champion Gary Woodland will be making his second start at the 3M Open. In 2021 he finished T11. With four career TOUR victories, Woodland is 96th on the FedExCup standings and 71st on the official world golf rankings.
