Authorities in Mankato say a four-year-old boy accidentally hanged himself Saturday night when the hooded sweatshirt he was wearing got caught on a wall hanger in thrift store changing room. Investigators say it appears Ryu Pena went into the changing room by himself without any direct supervision. The boy was unresponsive when emergency responders arrived and was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead. Police say family members were in the store when the boy went into the changing room and authorities call it a “tragic accident.” A final ruling on cause of death will be made by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner. A GoFundMe page has been set up and donations are being requested so the preschooler can be buried in Texas.
