September is National Sickle Cell Awareness Month, and the Red Cross is asking eligible donors to give blood.
“So many people are unaware that sickle cell disease is a blood disorder and it’s one of the most common diseases and blood donation helps that.”
The Red Cross’ Sue Thesenga says as many as 100,000 people in the U-S have sickle cell disease and most of them are Latino and African American. To find out how you can help, visit redcrossblood.org.
