(St. Paul, MN) — A woman already serving time in a Shakopee prison for fraud is now charged in a massive new fraud scheme. Minnesota Attorney General Lori Swanson says 51-year-old Barbara Currin and six associates created a network of home health care agencies and unlawfully billed Medical Assistance for home nursing care from 2012 through 2105. In all, Swanson says Currin and her accomplices bilked taxpayers out of around $2.6 million. Currin pleaded guilty to a similar scheme in 2010 and was barred from having involvement with organizations receiving Medical Assistance funds.
