Latest data from the state Health Department show the number of abortions in Minnesota increased in 2017 for the second straight year and at 10-thousand-177 is now at the highest level since 2012. Scott Fischbach with Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life says, “It’s a small uptick but it’s concerning to us because we had been seeing so many years of decline in the number of abortions, and now this is a second year of a small increase.” Jen Aulwes with Planned Parenthood of Minnesota, North and South Dakota responds if President Trump appoints an anti-choice Supreme Court justice to replace Anthony Kennedy “and also is successful in cutting off funding for sex education and family planning funding, we’re gonna see that get even worse.”
