The American Civil Liberties union says it will appeal after a judge threw out a lawsuit alleging the state Corrections Department isn’t properly protecting inmates from COVID-19 at the Moose Lake prison. A-C-L-U Minnesota lead attorney Dan Shulman says although state prison officials “say that they know what they should be doing and maybe talk a good game and even tell prison people what they ought to do, it’s not happening.”
State Corrections Commissioner Paul Schnell responds his department “has taken a serious, adaptive, and coordinated approach to combating COVID-19 across state’s prison system.”
