At their Labor Day picnic in Rochester today, activists share results of conversations with working families about what they want candidates to focus on, headed into the 2018 election. Che Lopez says, “People are spending a lot of money on child care. They’re having trouble finding child care,… elderly care,… even health care in general.” Lopez says even in Rochester, a world-renowned medical center, “There are still a lot of people… that don’t have that type of care, or can’t even afford it.”
Lopez says they’re spreading the word about their “people’s platform” and want candidates held accountable for what they’re saying during the campaign.
