Anti-gun violence advocates are calling on 2nd District Congressman Jason Lewis and the rest of Minnesota’s U-S House members to vote against a bill that would require all states to honor concealed-carry permits from other states. A group at the State Capitol responded with a strong “no” when the Reverend Nancy Nord Bence with Protect Minnesota asked, “Do we really want someone who doesn’t even have to pass a background check to carry a gun in North Dakota, to be able to carry a gun in Minnesota?”
Nord Bence says in a cynical move to gain votes, the N-R-A has combined the measure with one that would strengthen federal instant criminal background checks. Congressman Lewis isn’t immediately available to respond.
