(Superior, WI) — Superior, Wisconsin officials are searching for a missing 12-year-old boy. Facebook posts from the family say Wayne of Foxboro, a half hour south of Superior, was last seen around 7 p.m. on Monday near Drifters Trail. He’s described as 4 feet tall, 100 pounds, with brown hair and a scar on his lower lip. Wayne was last seen wearing a forest green Adidas sweatshirt and black sweatpants.

(Mounds View, MN) — A multi-vehicle crash in Mounds View this morning has killed one person. State Patrol responded to the scene around 10 a.m. on I-35W. Officials say one person was killed in the crash that involved at least one passenger and one commercial vehicle. No other information has been released.

(Columbia Heights, MN) — Anoka County authorities are releasing the identities of a man and woman involved in a fatal stabbing in Columbia Heights this weekend. On Saturday afternoon, first responders found 34-year-old Sean Symouksavanh with a stab wound. Despite life-saving aid, he died at the scene. Deputies arrested 31-year-old Clarissa Blackbear, who has since been released pending formal charges. Authorities aren’t looking for other suspects. No other information is available.

(South St. Paul, MN) — The Dakota County Attorney’s Office (DCAO) is not filing criminal charges against a daycare provider after a young child ingested methamphetamine. South St. Paul City Councilmember and in-home day care owner Pam Bakken was investigated after a three-year-old became violently ill after leaving her daycare on December 6th, 2024. The child was brought to the hospital, and meth and other amphetamines were found in his system. The boy told his mother he had eaten something found on a rug at Bakken’s daycare. County Attorney Kathy Keena says the state can’t prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the child ingested meth at Bakken’s daycare or that she knew it was in her home. Bakken’s daycare license remains suspended, which she is appealing on July 31st in Hastings.

(St. Paul, MN) – 30 state lawmakers have signed and sent a letter to Minnesota’s congressional delegation urging them to save Head Start programs for the state. They say President Trump has proposed cuts to the program as designed in the agenda known as Project 2025. The office of DFL Senator Liz Boldon says Head Start and Early Head Start programs benefit more than 12,000 children and support more than 3,000 workers across the state. Senator Boldon says eliminating these programs would be disastrous for these working families.

(St. Cloud, MN) — SEIU public sector workers and community members are rallying outside a St. Cloud school tonight to demand full funding for public schools and institutions. The Minnesota Association of Professional Employees (MAPE) says it will stand outside North Junior High School to urge lawmakers to prioritize education and public services in the state and federal budget, with a focus on the St. Cloud region. The legislature has just three weeks to finalize a budget bill.
>>90 Minnesota National Guard Airmen Deployed to Africa
(St. Paul, MN) — More than 90 members of the Minnesota National Guard’s 133rd Airlift Wing are spending the next few months in Africa. The airmen were deployed this week to the U.S. Africa Command area in support of Operation Spartan Shield and New Normal. They are scheduled to work on base infrastructure, provide security, and manage supply systems. The 133rd airmen are expected to return to Minnesota in late summer.
