(Undated) — Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is scheduled to debate Republican V-P rival candidate J-D Vance October 1st in New York City, the Harris-Walz campaign announced today, but they’re saying “no” to the Trump campaign’s proposal for an additional face-off on September 18th. The two camps have also apparently agreed on two debates between the presidential candidates, former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris — one on September 10th and another in October. Harris-Walz campaign says both the V-P and the presidential face-offs in October assume “Donald Trump actually shows up on September 10 to debate Vice President Harris.”

(Arrowhead Twp, MN) — The State Patrol says a man, a woman and two young girls, all from Blackduck, were killed Wednesday afternoon when a trucker slammed into a string of vehicles stopped for road construction about 30 miles west of Duluth on Highway 2 in Arrowhead Township. Two semis and three S-U-Vs with nine people total were involved. Investigators say the semi driver “struck the stopped vehicles at highway speeds” in a construction zone. 65-year-old Vincent Dow and 66-year-old Bonnie Dow died in the crash, along with Hope Oakgrove and Charlotte White, both nine years old. The trucker, 63-year-old Gregory Anwiler of Grand Rapids, had non-critical injuries. The patrol says a passenger in a different S-U-V, an 84-year-old woman from Grand Rapids, and the driver of the other semi, a 45-year-old man from Rochester, survived their injuries and three others were unhurt. Road conditions were dry and the State Patrol hasn’t yet said why the semi driver didn’t stop.

(Blaine, MN) — The two men involved in an apparent murder-suicide Tuesday in Blaine have been identified as brothers. 61-year-old David Knox was found dead in a vehicle from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, while 62-year-old Timothy Knox was found outside a home with critical gunshot wounds. Despite lifesaving aid, Timothy died at the scene. No other information has been released.

(Maplewood, MN) — One woman is dead and another injured from a hit-and-run in Maplewood Wednesday night. Police found two victims, a 23-year-old woman from Minneapolis who was pronounced dead at Regions Hospital and a 22-year-old woman from St. Paul. Officers say they found the vehicle this morning, but there’s no information about whether the driver is in custody.

Clinics approved to distribute insulin are in Red Wing, Cook, Minneapolis (3), Duluth, and St. Paul (3), with six clinics yet to be chosen. (Fargo, ND) — A man is dead after he was hit by a yard truck pulling a trailer in north Fargo early this morning (THURS). Authorities say it happened around 1 a.m. in the parking lot of Cass Clay Creamery, while there was rain and limited lighting. The 31-year-old victim, who was not a creamery employee, died at the scene. The 48-year-old Fargo man driving the truck is not facing charges. More information is expected Friday.

(Minneapolis, MN) — A man is dead after a south Minneapolis apartment fire. Around 10:30 a.m Tuesday, fire crews responded to a report of one resident unaccounted for in a 4-story residential apartment building. An elderly man was found dead in rubble piles of the collapsed roof. This is the second fire fatality of 2024 in Minneapolis.

(St. Paul, MN) — The fall sports schedule begins tonight (Thurs) for the Golden Gophers as the women’s soccer team hosts Creighton in a match on the St. Paul campus. The football Gophers open their season two weeks from tonight at home against North Carolina, while the volleyball hosts an exhibition match with Iowa State a week from Saturday. Senior associate athletic director Mike Wierzbicki says there is a lot of road construction on campus and Gopher fans will need to be patient. He says the best thing fans can do is build in extra time and try to arrive earlier than normal.
