>>Harris Whittles Field of Potential V.P. Running Mates

(Undated) — Reuters reports Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala (CAH-muh-luh) Harris has whittled the field of vice-presidential running mates down to two finalists — Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Other sources report Harris’s official announcement will be sometime tomorrow (Tuesday) morning, but that’s reportedly subject to change based on when the vice president makes her final decision and whether there are any media leaks. Harris and her choice will kick off their battleground state tour tomorrow evening at Temple University in Philadelphia, then go to Eau Claire in far western Wisconsin on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Walz was scheduled to attend a Minnesota fundraiser for Harris today.

Analysts say Harris’s stop is to send a message to the Trump campaign that she’s defending Minnesota and neighboring Wisconsin — a state that Trump nearly took in 2020. It comes after Harris and her running mate kick off their battleground state tour tomorrow (Tues) evening in Philadelphia — and Republican rival Vance will also be there earlier in the day.
