>>MPD Continues Active Search for Missing Girl
(Minneapolis) – Minneapolis Police are continuing their active and ongoing search for an endangered missing 12-year-old girl. Victoria Alexandria Jackson was last seen walking from Minnehaha Falls on August 2nd around 8 p.m. Police are concerned because Jackson is diabetic and wearing an insulin pump. Police say she could be at risk for experiencing a medical emergency. She was last seen wearing a tan “Rugrat” shirt, blue jeans, and red and black shoes. Minneapolis Police is working with several law enforcement agencies and trained volunteers to search for the girl.
>>Arrest in Fargo Shooting
(Fargo, ND) – A suspect has been arrested in one of two deadly weekend shootings in Fargo. Caundre Douglas was found in Jamestown and returned to Fargo after evidence linked him to the early Sunday morning shooting death of 19-year-old Elijah Hughes. Police captain Bill Ahlfeldt says the search continues for the suspect in a shooting downtown about a half hour earlier. The chief says 19-year-old Tyree Jones is wanted in the murder of Azeem Holmes on August 3. Jones has been charged with murder and a warrant is out for his arrest. Two others were wounded in the downtown shooting, one critically.
>>MN Man Hiking in Wyoming Missing
(Big Horn County, WY) — A Minnesota man is missing in Wyoming. The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office posted to Facebook, saying thirty-eight-year-old Grant Gardner went on a three-day hike in the Misty Moon Lake area, reaching Cloud Peak on July 29th around 9 p.m. Gardner contacted his wife, told her the hike was more difficult than expected, and hasn’t been seen or heard from since. His vehicle was found in the parking lot near the trailhead he began at. Officials say search dogs and aircraft have been deployed, but winds, thunder, and lightning are making the search tough.
>>MN Congressional Members Appear at Farmfest
(Morgan, MN) – Several of Minnesota’s Congressional members are attending Farmfest in Morgan. Congresswoman Angie Craig criticized House Republicans for making massive cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program saying the GOP cut $168 billion from the government program. Republican Congressman Brad Finstad defended the cuts saying since 2019, SNAP funding has increased by 90 percent.
>>Grants Available for First Farm Purchases
(St. Paul, MN) – Minnesotans looking to get into the farming industry have a chance to apply for grants to buy their first farm. The Minnesota Department of Agriculture Down Payment Assistance Grant program has arrived. The program offers eligible farmers up to $20,000 to help buy their first farm. That is an increase of $10,000 from previous years. The Minnesota legislature boosted the funding available for the program. Applications are being accepted through September 15.

(Undated) — Minnesota Lynx guard Kayla McBride is the Western Conference Player of the Week. The first of the awards in her career, McBride averaged 24 points, 5 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in the two games played from July 28th through August 3rd. The Pennsylvania native ranks second in the WNBA in three-point baskets and scored in double figures in seven of her last eight games. The Lynx plays at the Seattle Storm tonight at 9 p.m.
