(Brooklyn Park, MN) — Brooklyn Park police are searching for an endangered, missing man. 55-year-old Daniel Angaran was last seen leaving Brooklyn Park on foot on Sunday. He is described as white, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 200 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. Angaran was last seen wearing a sandy-colored shirt with black shoes. He’s known to travel on Amtrak and may be trying to leave Minnesota.

(Itasca County, MN) — A Hopkins man is dead after being thrown off his ATV on Sunday. Itasca County deputies responded to Arbo Township around 8 p.m. on reports of an ATV accident. They found a man, 62-year-old Rory Strachota, who was pronounced dead on the scene. An investigation is ongoing.

(Viroqua, WI) — The manhunt in Wisconsin for a Canton, Minnesota, man continues. Viroqua, Wisconsin, police posted to Facebook on Friday, saying this began when officers responded to a call to a local parking lot about a man with an active warrant. On arrival, the wanted man, Nathan Gossman, and a passenger got into a vehicle and sped away, hitting a Viroqua officer as it fled. It’s unknown if the officer was injured. The passenger, Jesse Devlaeminck of Rochester, exited the vehicle later on and was arrested on multiple active arrest warrants. Gossman continued to lead police on a high-speed chase before leaving the road, stealing a dump truck near De Soto, and fleeing. The truck has been recovered since then.

(Stearns County, MN) — A motorcycle crash in Stearns County on Saturday sent a man to the hospital. Stearns County deputies responded to a report of a crash with injuries in Melrose Township around 5:30 p.m. The crash happened near the bridge over the Lake Wobegon Trail. Deputies learned that 23-year-old Dylan Klukken of Osakis was heading east when he went off the road and hit a guardrail. He was thrown from the bike and was not wearing a helmet. Klukken was brought to St. Cloud Hospital for his injuries.
>>Harmony Man Pleads Guilty to Fatal DWI ATV Hit-and-Run
(Preston, MN) — A Harmony man is pleading guilty to driving drunk, causing the death of 23-year-old Cale Jackson of Cresco, Iowa. 51-year-old Brian Nelson was accused of driving an all-terrain vehicle while intoxicated (DWI) and striking Jackson on August 4th, 2024, in Granger, which is near the Minnesota-Iowa border. Court documents say Nelson told officers he drank several beers before driving the ATV to meet friends at the bar. His preliminary breath test showed a BAC (blood alcohol content) of 0.16 about 90 minutes after the incident. Nelson faced eight charges total, but pleaded guilty to one count of criminal vehicular homicide involving alcohol impairment. He will be sentenced in October.

(Rochester, MN) — A Rochester man is in custody for his role in a stabbing on Sunday. Police responded to the stabbing around 3 a.m. Officers learned that two people were verbally fighting at a party when the suspect, 23-year-old Carlos Samaniego, allegedly stabbed someone in the leg. The victim’s condition is unknown. Police say Samaniego was arrested and could face a felony second-degree assault charge.
>>Minneapolis Firefighters Respond to Fire at Emmanuel House
(Minneapolis, MN) — Minneapolis fire crews responded to a fire at a five-story residential apartment building just before 11 a.m. Known as the Emmanuel House, the building provides housing for people who have experienced long-term homelessness. When they arrived, fire crews found heavy smoke, and the sprinklers were activated on the second floor. They extinguished a couch that was on fire and contained the fire to a single unit. Some residents were evacuated. One resident was displaced and is getting help from the American Red Cross. All other residents returned to their apartments. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

(St. Paul, MN) – The Minnesota Department of Agriculture is accepting applications from schools, early childhood education centers, and licensed in-home family child care providers looking to serve locally produced foods. This year, the Ag Department is expected to award about $1.3 million through the fiscal year 2026. Some of the money will be split with the state’s Local Tots Cost-Share program. Applications must be received by October 23rd to be considered. Officials say this program is a win-win for both the schools and Minnesota farmers.
