(Stewartville, MN) — A Minnesota high school student is in critical condition after being shot in a school parking lot. Authorities in Stewartville say students and coaches waiting to board a bus heard a gunshot and found the student wounded. There was a second shot, and deputies say an adult male was found dead from a self-inflicted wound. The victim underwent emergency surgery in the nearby city of Rochester. Investigators are still looking into a possible motive and any connection between the shooter and the victim.

His assignment is to work with Minnesota-based WayPoint, which focuses on forensic accounting, to implement a new fraud prevention program. O’Malley is currently the interim chief judge of the Court of Administrative Hearings. His hiring comes after the recent Feeding Our Future scandals, with rumors of more allegations of fraud in the Minnesota Department of Human Services. O’Malley will begin his new role next month.

(Moorhead, MN) — A Horizon Middle School student was arrested Thursday after bringing about 1,500 suspected fentanyl pills to school. Moorhead Police say staff and the School Resource Officer handled the incident quickly with no disruption to the school day. Police took the 13-year-old boy into custody and said the pills have an estimated street value of more than $35,000. He is being held at the Clay County Juvenile Detention Center on a first-degree controlled substance charge. Police Chief Chris Helmick called the case “very serious” and “extremely dangerous.” The investigation is ongoing, including how the teen got the pills and whether any were distributed. Police will begin random K9 searches at Horizon Middle School and Moorhead High School. Superintendent Brandon Lunak says another student reported the pills, calling the act courageous. Both Lunak and Helmick urged parents to talk with their children about the dangers of opioids. The student’s identity is not being released. Narcan is available to all Moorhead officers and in all district schools.

(Granite Falls, MN) — Authorities are seeking the public’s help in locating a 13-year-old Granite Falls girl, who was last seen on Monday. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says Mia Romo left her home on December 8th and has not been seen since. Authorities say there is a possibility that the girl is in Minneapolis or the surrounding area. Romo is described as a five-foot-three girl who weighs 170 pounds with brown hair and eyes.

(Naytahwaush, MN) – Several people were arrested on drug-related charges Thursday after White Earth Police executed a narcotics search warrant in Naytahwaush. Seven state and federal agencies assisted. Bradley Auginaush, 25, and Daniah Goodwin, 22, were arrested for drug possession and outstanding warrants. Shayna King, 25, and David Roy, 28, were taken into custody for child endangerment and drug possession. Bruce Auginaush Jr., 31, was arrested for first-degree drug possession with intent to sell; police say he has been arrested multiple times in the past eight months for distributing narcotics. The case has been forwarded to the Mahnomen County Attorney’s Office for review. A separate search warrant near Roy’s residence was also executed on December 11th.
