>>St. Paul Mayor Signs Ordinance Prohibiting Masked Law Enforcement Officers

(St. Paul, MN) — An ordinance signed today by St. Paul Mayor Kaohly (KUH-lee) Her prohibits law enforcement officers from wearing masks. Mayor Her said in a statement, “Saint Paul police officers will never wear masks to obscure their identity, and we should expect the same from federal law enforcement.” She claims ICE is causing confusion and undermining the relationship between the community and local police by obscuring their faces.

 

>>Rochester Woman to Stand Trial in April for Racial Slur Incident

(Rochester, MN) — A trial date is set for a Rochester woman who called a young boy a racial slur in a playground last spring. Thirty-six-year-old Shiloh Hendrix pleaded not guilty to three counts of disorderly conduct. Her jury trial is scheduled to begin April 13th in Olmsted County. The criminal complaint says an eight-year-old autistic boy took an applesauce pouch from Hendrix’s diaper bag and she repeatedly called him the N-word before snatching the applesauce back from him. A video of the incident went viral, and Hendrix also used racial slurs against the man recording it.

 

>>St. Louis County Man Pleads Guilty to Sex Assault

(Duluth, MN) – The St. Louis County Attorney’s Office announced 39-year-old Matthew Tourigny pleaded guilty to fire degree sexual conduct charges. During a plea hearing, Tourigny admitted that he sexually assaulted a male under the age of 14 between October 2021 and December 2024 in Britt, Minnesota. He also admitted to aggravating factors that can increase his sentence. Tourigny will be sentenced April 14 and faces a sentence of 24 years in prison.

 

 

>>Plymouth Man Sentenced to 70 Months for April 2023 Mosque Arson Fires

(Minneapolis, MN) — A Plymouth man will spend nearly six years in federal prison for setting fires to mosques in Bloomington and Minneapolis. Thirty-eight-year-old Jackie Rahm Little pleaded guilty to arson and damage to religious property. He admitted to starting fires at the Mercy Islamic Center in Bloomington and the Masjid Omar Islamic Center in Minneapolis in April 2023. Prosecutors say he used a liquid to set fire to the third-floor hallway and stairway in Bloomington causing more than 378 thousand dollars in damage.

 

>>Departure Ceremony Saturday for National Guard 133rd Airlift Wing

(St. Paul, MN) — There is a departure ceremony Saturday morning in St. Paul for more than 100 members of the Minnesota National Guard’s 133rd Airlift Wing. The airmen are set to deploy to the U-S Africa Command in their soon-to-be replaced C-130 Hercules aircraft. The Airlift Wing is scheduled to begin a three-year process to modernize its fleet to the C-130J-30 Super Hercules. Guard officials say the new aircraft fly longer, higher, and faster. The Minnesota airmen’s primary mission will be the transport of cargo and personnel throughout the region.

 

>>Timberwolves Host Mavericks in Return from All-Star Break

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Timberwolves return from the All-Star break tonight with a home game against the Dallas Mavericks. Anthony Edwards was named the M-V-P of the N-B-A All-Star Game in L-A on Sunday. The Wolves last game was a 133-109 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on February 11th. Dallas star rookie Cooper Flagg has been ruled out for tonight at Target Center. The Mavs have lost nine in a row.
