(Minneapolis, MN) — Aimee Bock, the convicted leader of the Feeding Our Future fraud scheme, is appealing her conviction and sentence. Her attorney has asked the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit to review the case, arguing that sentencing guidelines were improperly applied and are unconstitutional. Bock was sentenced in May to more than 41 years in federal prison for her role in what prosecutors described as a massive scheme that defrauded federal child nutrition programs of hundreds of millions of dollars. The appeal is in its early stages, and Bock remains in federal custody at the Sherburne County Jail. To date, 79 people have been charged in the case, with 66 convictions secured.

(Minneapolis) – The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office filed its opposition to ICE agent Gregory Morgan’s motion to move his case from Hennepin County to federal court. Morgan is charged with two counts of second-degree assault for an incident in February where he brandished and pointed his duty weapon at two individuals while driving alongside him. The County Attorney’s Office says Morgan’s actions were unlawful and in violation of Minnesota law.

(Red Wing, MN) — A Red Wing man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities uncovered what they describe as an unlicensed cannabis-growing operation. Police executed a search warrant Tuesday at a residence and arrested 45-year-old Jaime Tri. Investigators say they seized approximately 33 pounds of suspected marijuana, along with suspected pills, THC edibles, vaping products, and equipment associated with cannabis cultivation. More than $26,000 in cash was also recovered during the search. Tri has been charged with first-degree cannabis possession, third-degree controlled substance crime, third-degree cannabis sales, and child endangerment. The investigation remains ongoing.

(Duluth, MN) – Minnesotans heading through Duluth this weekend should expect major detours. Grandma’s Marathon on Saturday will bring road closures starting at 4 a.m. and lasting until about 3 p.m. MnDOT says I-35 and Highway 61 will be shut down and traffic rerouted onto city streets, with delays likely throughout the area. The DNR is looking for a number of volunteers who can help fairgoers when they visit the different displays, and greet guests and rove the fairgrounds.
