The investigation focused on Minnesota officials who took part in public demonstrations and criticized federal immigration enforcement connected to Operation Metro Surge. Governor Tim Walz says Chief U.S. District Judge Patrick Schiltz ruled the investigation was unconstitutional and had no legal basis. Walz called the decision a victory for free speech and the right to peacefully protest, and says he’ll continue speaking out on issues affecting Minnesotans.

(Bemidji, MN) — A 65-year-old Bemidji man was killed after being struck by a vehicle Sunday night. The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened just before 10:45 p.m. in Grant Valley Township west of Bemidji. The victim, identified as Floyd Cloud, died at the scene despite lifesaving efforts by first responders. Authorities say the driver, a 56-year-old Bemidji man, remained at the scene and cooperated fully with investigators. According to the sheriff’s office, there were no immediate signs of impairment. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

(Minneapolis) – Target is voluntarily recalling their brands of baby wipes after FDA testing found potential Microbial contamination. Customers also reported discoloration with the products. The items being recalled are the Up & Up Fragrance Free and Up & Up Fresh Cucumber Scented Baby Wipes. The recall says the products can cause skin irritations, eye irritations, and infections. Target says customers should stop using the products immediately and return the items to the store for a full refund.

(Duluth, MN) — The Superior National Forest is seeking public feedback on a proposed change to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness permit cancellation policy. Officials say the goal is to return unused permits to the system sooner, giving families, school groups, and other visitors a better chance to plan trips. Under the proposal, permit holders would receive partial refunds for cancellations made well in advance, while last-minute cancellations would forfeit deposits. Forest officials say nearly 40 percent of permits reserved when sales opened in 2025 went unused. Public comments will be accepted through July 22, and any approved changes would take effect for the 2027 summer season.

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins are adding a new element to the game-day experience at Target Field. The club has unveiled the Twins Rally Dancers, a 10-member squad that will perform at select home games during the second half of the season. The group includes eight dancers and two coaches, with nine members hailing from Minnesota. Two of the coaches are former Minnesota Vikings cheerleaders. The Rally Dancers will make their debut July 10th when the Twins host the Los Angeles Angels. The Twins join a small group of Major League Baseball teams with official dance squads
