(White Bear Lake, MN) — Authorities have identified the woman who drowned on White Bear Lake this weekend. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says the victim was 40-year-old Beverly Rodriguez of Woodbury, who was a sergeant with Metro Transit Police. Officers responded to the east side of the lake on Sunday after a woman fell into the water and didn’t resurface. The woman was underwater for more than 40 minutes before being located by the fire/rescue dive team.

(Qatar, Iran) – Explosions were heard in Qatar on Monday as witnesses reported seeing missiles over the country, according to the Associated Press. Iranian state media announced an operation launching missile attacks against U.S. air bases in Qatar. The Qatar government is now confirming the strike and that its air defenses stopped the attack and successfully intercepted the Iranian missiles. CBS News reports that about 10,000 American troops are based there and sheltering in place.

(Undated) — A local fundraiser for Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette, who were shot several times in their Champlin home last weekend, has reached $220,000. The couple was a part of only one of the politically motivated shootings that day by suspect 57-year-old Vance Boelter, who then fatally shot Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark. Yvette, an education professional at Fernbrook Elementary in Maple Grove, was released from the hospital on Thursday. After the attack, the school’s Parent Teacher Organization started a fundraiser for the two with a goal of $5,000, which has long since been reached. Boelter faces six federal charges and four state charges.

(St. Cloud, MN) — One man is hurt and another is in custody after a stabbing in north St. Cloud on Sunday. Police responded to an apartment building around 11:25 a.m. on a report of a stabbing. Officers found a 44-year-old man inside a unit with multiple stab wounds. He was brought to St. Cloud Hospital and is in stable condition. Investigators later arrested the victim’s roommate, 28-year-old Markus Lewis, for the attack. A knife was recovered at the scene. The motive is unknown.

(Roseville, MN) – The Salvation Army has deployed several teams of disaster response workers to Bemidji following Friday’s storms that caused widespread damage. As many as eight relief workers, along with three mobile feeding trucks, are now in the area providing food, water, and clean-up kits. Besides the Twin Cities, Salvation Army workers have arrived from Duluth, Brainerd, and International Falls to assist in the effort.

(Undated) – The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Minnesota wants Minnesotans to send in stories about their favorite buildings in the state and what they mean to them. Spokesperson Ann Mayhew says the North Star Story Map is meant to redefine what we consider the most important buildings in Minnesota and foster a sense of connection. She explains, “It could be a design that inspires you, but for a lot of people it’s their memories and what’s happened in that building and how that made them feel.” The online collection has 40-50 entries so far, all unedited. Mayhew says the stories can consist of one sentence or many paragraphs, an anecdote, or a bit of history.

(St. Paul, MN) – Three-time Grammy Award-winning band Maroon 5 is coming to the Xcel Energy Center as part of its new national tour. Following the release of the band’s new album on August 15th, the band will appear at the X on October 29th. This will be Maroon 5’s sixth appearance at the arena, but the first since 2018. Tickets for the general public will go on sale this Friday, June 27th, at 10 a.m.
