>>Workplace Fatal in Cold Spring

(Cold Spring, MN) — A man is dead after an accident at Pilgrims processing plant in Cold Spring, early this morning. A 29-year-old male employee became pinned beneath equipment in the loading dock area. When officers arrived, the individual had already been removed from under the equipment by coworkers.  Emergency medical care was provided; however, the male was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s.  The incident remains under investigation, and no name has been released at this time.

 

>>Dodge Center Man Sentenced to 30 Years for Child Sexual Account

(Dodge Center, MN) – A Dodge Center man, who was previously sent to prison for convictions involving the physical abuse of children, has now been handed a 30-year prison sentence for child sexual assault. William Wyttenback was convicted of first and second-degree criminal sexual conduct charges during a trial in March. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison this week on his 55th birthday. Wyttenback was convicted of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl multiple times over a two-year period.

 

>>Republican Qualls Challenges Demuth to Debates

(Minneapolis) – Republican gubernatorial candidate Kendall Qualls has issued a challenge to his Republican competitor, House Speaker Lisa Demuth (day-myth), for a series of debates before the August 11th primary. Qualls says he has accepted the first invitation from the Republican Party of Olmsted County for a live televised debate July 21st in Rochester. Qualls said, “Minnesota voters deserve to hear directly from the candidates on the issues that are most important to them.” No response yet from the Demuth camp.

 

 

>>Demuth Touring State Ahead of Early Voting

(St. Paul, MN) – Republican gubernatorial candidate and House Speaker Lisa Demuth (day-myth) and her running mate Ryan Wilson will tour the state Friday to promote early primary voting. The duo will begin their tour in St. Paul and have stops in Rochester, Mankato and Duluth. The primary is August 11th. Demuth faces two businessmen in the GOP Primary, Kendall Qualls, who received the Republican Party endorsement, and Mike Lindell.

 

 

>>Early Primary Voting Begins Friday in Minnesota

(St. Paul, MN) – Minnesotans can start casting their early ballots for the August 11th primary tomorrow in Minnesota. Voters can cast their ballots by mail or in person. State law allows voters to cast ballots 46 days before the election. Minnesota uses an open primary which means citizens can select which party’s primary they choose to vote in. Voters can also apply for an absentee ballot online before July 28th.

 

 

>>Timberwolves Trade Reid to Hornets for LaMelo Ball

(Minneapolis) – The Minnesota Timberwolves are trading popular player Naz Reid to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for guard LaMelo Ball and Josh Green. The Wolves will also send a series of draft picks to Charlotte. Ball averaged 20 points and 7 assists per game for the Hornets last season. Reid averaged nearly 14 points and six rebounds per game last season. He was the NBA’s 2024 Sixth Man of the Year award winner.

 

 

>>Peregrine Falcon Chicks Banded, Considered Healthy

(St. Paul, MN) – The three peregrine falcon chicks featured on the DNR’s FalconCam were banded and received their health checks. Each chick received a silver identification band and a two-colored field-readable band that allows for identification from a distance. The two unhatched eggs were also collected and will be sent to the Chicago Field Museum for contaminant analysis. Each chick was given a health check-up and is considered to be healthy.
