>>Willmar Police Search for Missing Teen 

(Willmar, MN) — Willmar police are searching for a missing 14-year-old girl. Natalia Hernandez, a.k.a. Tasha, was last seen leaving her residence around 11:40 p.m. on May 8th. She’s described as Hispanic, 5 feet 1 inch, 109 pounds, with long black hair and brown eyes. Hernandez was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, fuzzy black and white pajama pants, and a black backpack with a Nike swoosh. She may be with another missing juvenile, Alexavier Flores of Meeker County. 

 

>> Authorities Arrest Suspect in Mapleton Homicide Investigation

(Mapleton, MN) — Authorities investigating the death of a man in Mapleton have arrested a suspect who was reportedly seen driving the victim’s vehicle early this morning, According to the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a vehicle off the roadway south of the Terrace View Golf Course shortly after 2 a.m. A witness told deputies that the driver had fled the scene on foot. Unable to locate the driver, authorities went to the home of the vehicle’s registered owner, where they discovered the man deceased inside his residence, showing “obvious signs of trauma.” Deputies and troopers continued searching the area south of the golf course for the individual seen driving the victim’s vehicle. During the search, the driver approached deputies and was taken into custody on related charges. He was confirmed to be the person known to live with the victim.

 

>>2 Metro Restaurants Federally Raided

(Minneapolis, MN) — Two metro restaurants were searched this morning during federal raids allegedly related to drugs and money laundering. Taqueria y Birrieria las Cuatro Milpas locations in Minneapolis and Bloomington saw federal agents, including the DEA and Homeland Security, and several protestors in large crowds. Minneapolis Police denied involvement and claimed it was ICE-related, to which the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office says that’s not true and MPD was involved. The same person owns both restaurants.

 

>>No Special Session Announcement, Again

(St. Paul, MN) – Another day has passed without a special session called at the Capitol. A governor’s spokesperson confirmed Governor Tim Walz will not call the special session today following more behind-closed-door meetings. The governor was scheduled to meet with legislative leaders this afternoon, but no official word that the meeting even took place. The governor has said in the past that when all the budget bills are finished, and the revisors have time to update them, he will call a special session. The regular legislative session ended fifteen days ago.

 

>>Primary Runway At St. Paul Airport Is Closed Through Early August

(St. Paul, MN) — The main runway at the St. Paul Downtown Airport is shut down temporarily.  It will be closed until August 9th while crews reconstruct a mile-long stretch. They will also make adjustments to lighting and surface drainage. The closure will cause other taxiways linked to the main runway to be intermittently closed during the project. Meanwhile, some airport tenants will temporarily relocate to other Metropolitan Airport Commission airports to maintain operations.

 

>>Former MN Vikings Captain Marshall Dies

(Undated) — Minnesota Vikings’ former team captain Jim Marshall is dead. The Vikings confirmed the death in an X post today praising the 87-year-old for his 14 consecutive season run and the standards he set as a person. Marshall appeared in all four Super Bowl games Minnesota made, and is known for being a part of the legendary “Purple People Eaters” defensive line with Carl Eller, Gary Larsen, and Alan Page.  

 

>>Unbeaten Minnesota Lynx Hosting Phoenix Mercury 

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Lynx go for their eighth straight victory tonight at 7 p.m. when the Phoenix Mercury visit Target Center. The Lynx beat the Valkyries 86-75 Sunday in San Francisco to improve to 7-0 this season. Minnesota won at Phoenix 74-71 on Friday night without All-Star forward Napheesa Collier. Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas will miss her third straight game with a calf injury. 

 

>>Big Day at Canterbury Park Saturday

(Shakopee, MN) — Top Minnesota-bred thoroughbreds face off Saturday at Canterbury Park in two $50,000 sprint stakes—the 10,000 Lakes and the Lady Slipper. The first race starts at 4:02 p.m., an hour early, to fit in the Belmont Stakes simulcast from Saratoga. In the 10,000 Lakes, three past winners return: Sir Sterling, Doctor Oscar, and Thealligatorhunter, joined by Distorted Pro and North Arm Bay.

 

>>Lil Wayne Tours Minneapolis in August

(Minneapolis, MN) — Grammy-winning American rapper Lil Wayne is coming to Minneapolis this August. “Tha Carter VI” tour will stop at Target Center on August 20th, soon after his latest album release this Friday. Presale tickets go on sale on Live Nation tomorrow at 10 a.m., and general ticket sales begin Friday. Tyga and Belly Gang Kushington will open.
