(Little Falls, MN) — A man from Deerwood is hospitalized with serious injuries suffered in a fall from a roof near Harding in Morrison County. Sheriff’s deputies say 63-year-old Timothy Fox was working on a chimney Saturday afternoon when he slipped and fell about 20 feet to the ground. Fox was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. No word on his current condition.

(Moorhead, MN) — A former Clay County Jail employee has been charged with sexual misconduct. 23-year-old Chloe Nord of Fargo was arrested over the weekend in Fargo. The Clay County Attorney’s Office says Nord became romantically involved with an inmate between November and January of this year. She’s accused of exchanging messages with the inmate. The inmate told investigators that he and Nord planned to continue their relationship after he was released. He said Nord touched him inappropriately twice while he was in the jail. She initially denied physical contact, but later said she “fell under his spell.” Nord briefly worked as an officer with Grand Forks Police after she left her job at the jail in Moorhead.

(Seattle, WA) — Minnesota’s star quarterback is heading to Seattle. Days after the Vikings didn’t give quarterback Sam Darnold a franchise tag, the 27-year-old signed a three-year, $100.5 million contract with Washington’s Seattle Seahawks. Darnold, who’s had a career year, took over for rookie J.J. McCarthy, who suffered a season-ending knee injury.
>>Senate Bill Could Keep Electronic Waste Out of Landfills
(St. Paul, MN) – A bill is moving through the Senate that would allow Minnesotans to dispose of electronic waste free of charge and keep it out of state landfills. The bill, authored by Senator Rob Kupec of Moorhead, would eliminate the disposal of electronic products through curbside solid waste or recycling programs. Currently, Minnesota generates 266 million pounds of e-waste each year. Only 24% of it is recycled properly. The bill would allow places for Minnesotans to dispose of these electronics at no cost to them. The bill is heading to the State and Local Government Committee.

(Hennepin County, MN) — Community members will protest outside the Hennepin County Government Center tomorrow, opposing the recent ICE arrests across the country. Organizers say the presence of ICE in Minnesota courthouses and civic centers “jeopardizes community safety, well-being, and access to justice.” The Government Center handles anything from driver’s licenses and birth certificates to testifying in court. The protestors demand prohibition of ICE from entering the Gov. Center, no collaboration between Public Safety Staff and ICE agents, and Know-Your-Rights resources in multiple languages throughout the Gov. Center.
