Mindy Heth left her Adrian home on January 24th and was dropped off at a residence in Sioux Falls, South Dakota; she never returned home. Mindy is described as Native American, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 160 pounds, with brown eyes. She’s known to change her hair color and style often but is assumed to likely have black or blonde hair. Mindy has piercings in both nostrils and her septum. She was last seen wearing a black crop top, a black sweatshirt, red flannel pants, and white slippers.

(Isle, MN) — Isle Police are looking for a missing 16-year-old. Brody Schwarzbauer was last seen on March 3rd leaving his Isle home around 7:30 p.m. Brody is described as white, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 300 pounds, with brown hair and eyes. He was last seen wearing a grey sweatshirt that said “Mille Lacs Lake,” blue jeans, and white tennis shoes.

 

>>Authorities Seize Ten Pounds Of Cartel Drugs From Twin Cities Home

(Brooklyn Center, MN) — Federal authorities have seized ten pounds of illegal drugs from a home in Brooklyn Center. The raid took place this morning in the north metro suburb. A drug task force also detained Israel Romero, who faces four counts of first-degree aggravated controlled substance crimes. Authorities report that Romero entered the United States illegally with the intent to sell drugs for a cartel. During the operation, the task force confiscated over seven pounds of fentanyl, more than a pound of methamphetamine, approximately two pounds of cocaine, and one-third of a pound of heroin.

(Toronto) — The Premier of Ontario, Canada, has paused his plan to impose a tariff on electricity exports to the United States. Yesterday, Premier Doug Ford announced a 25% surcharge on electricity supplied to certain areas of Minnesota, Michigan, and New York. This development comes after President Trump announced a 50% increase in tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum.

(St. Paul, MN) – Minnesota’s Paid Family and Medical Leave law is set to start on January 1st, 2026, but House Republicans have tabled the bill before a vote was held. Republican Dave Baker from Willmar says businesses and school districts need more time to prepare, but DFL Representative Cedrick Frazier of New Hope says Minnesota families have waited long enough for this benefit. Under the new law, workers can take up to 12 weeks for both medical and family leave.

 

>>Community Protests Outside Hennepin Gov. Center, Opposes ICE Arrests

(Hennepin County, MN) – Community members are protesting outside the Hennepin County Government Center today, opposing the recent ICE arrests across the country. Community Defense Attorney Emanual Williams says the presence of ICE in Minnesota courthouses and civic centers jeopardizes community safety, well-being, and access to justice. Protestors are demanding ICE be kept out of the Government Center, that no Gov. employees work with ICE, and that Know-Your-Rights resources be in multiple languages throughout the Gov. Center.

 

>>Former Hockey Association Employee Charged with Stealing from Organization

(Fargo, ND) — A former employee of the West Fargo Hockey Association, Steven Lyon, of Moorhead has been charged with felony theft for stealing around $68,000 from the organization. Lyon admitted to taking the money from electronic gambling machines when confronted. He was fired and repaid the amount almost immediately. The theft was reported to the state gaming commission, and Lyon is now banned from working in charitable gaming in North Dakota. Discrepancies were quickly discovered by the association’s auditor, linking the theft to Lyon.

(New Ulm, MN) — Southern Minnesota’s representative in Congress is running for reelection.  Republican Brad Finstad announced he will be seeking reelection to represent Minnesota’s First Congressional District in the US House of Representatives next year. Finstad was first elected to Congress in a special election held in August 2022 following the death of Republican Congressman Jim Hagedorn. He then was elected to continue representing the First Congressional District during the general election in November 2022.
