>>ICE Agent Appears in Hennepin County District Court

(Minneapolis) – The federal ICE agent who pointed a gun at two drivers on Highway 62 during Operation Metro Surge made his first court appearance in Hennepin County. Gregory Morgan, Jr.  faces two counts of second-degree assault. During his first appearance, the court imposed that Morgan must remain law-abiding during his court process, cannot possess any weapons and cannot have any contact with witnesses. Morgan’s attorney says the public needs to hear their side of the story.

 

>>East Bethel Youth Treatment Program Under Investigation

(East Bethel, MN) — A youth psychiatric treatment program in East Bethel is under state investigation after Minnesota officials moved to suspend its license. The Minnesota Department of Human Services says Nexus Family Healing failed to protect the basic rights of residents at its East Bethel facility. State investigators allege incidents of unreported maltreatment, unsafe medication practices, and inadequate staffing and training. DHS says the license suspension takes effect May 29th. The agency says the action is intended to protect the health and safety of residents receiving care at the facility.

 

>>Moorhead Cops Nab Suspect from Deep Freezer

(Moorhead, MN) — A Moorhead man is accused of leading police on a chase before being found hiding inside a deep freezer. Police say 36-year-old Antoine Reddogg was seen Wednesday on Highway 10 preventing a woman from leaving a vehicle. Investigators say a bystander tried to help, but Reddogg pulled the woman back inside and drove off. A Clay County deputy later spotted the vehicle and began a pursuit as the passenger reportedly continued trying to escape. Officers eventually ended the chase as speeds increased toward Fargo. The vehicle was later found abandoned in north Moorhead, and police say Reddogg was discovered hiding inside a deep freezer at a nearby home. He faces charges including felony fleeing, false imprisonment, and domestic assault by strangulation.

(Bloomington, MN) — Summer travel is taking off at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport as Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of the busy vacation season. Airport spokesman Jeff Lea(Lee) says about 300-thousand travelers are expected to pass through security checkpoints between this past Monday and the Monday after Memorial Day, an increase from recent weeks. Lea says Thursdays and Fridays are typically the busiest departure days as travelers head out for week-long vacations. He’s reminding passengers to arrive early, check flight schedules ahead of time, and stay updated with their airline before heading to the airport.
