(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota BCA has identified the two St. Paul police officers who fatally shot a murder suspect on Saturday. Officer Eric Jaworski and Matthew Foy fired their weapons, both having 10 years of law enforcement experience. Police were tipped to the whereabouts of 36-year-old Mychel Stowers, who was wanted for the second-degree murder of his pregnant ex-wife, Damara. Stowers was located at a laundromat where two officers approached and shot him several times, saying Stowers was armed. Stowers was brought to Regions Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

(Barron County, WI) – A Minnesota teenager is dead after a kayak mishap in western Wisconsin over the weekend. The Barron County Sheriff’s office says multiple people called 911 from Kirby Lake just after 12:30 p.m. Saturday to report hearing screams from the water. Callers told dispatchers two people were kayaking and overturned, and one paddler went under and did not resurface. The other kayaker, the victim’s brother, safely made it to shore. The 17-year-old was eventually recovered and flown to a hospital in Minnesota, where he did not survive.

(Eagan, MN) — Eagan Police continue to investigate a pair of assaults at Lebanon Hil Visitor Center. The first report on September 7th involved a physical assault on a woman by a man at the Jensen Lake Trailhead. The second report on Thursday (Nov. 11th) involved a sexual assault on a woman by a man on the trails near the Center’s parking. Police say there is no evidence right now that the suspect was the same in both assaults. Officials ask anyone on park trails to be alert and call 911 for anything suspicious.

John Sawchak is charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, stalking, and harassment, all charges he denies. Victim Davis Moturi is recovering at home after being shot in the neck while doing yardwork. Minneapolis residents are calling for an internal review of how the MPD handled the years-long case and want Chief Bryan O’Hara to step down.
