(St. Louis County, MN) — A Fredenberg man missing since Veterans Day was found dead this morning. 62-year-old Mark Curran had been missing from his home near Bear Island Road since 4:30 p.m. Monday. Investigators are working to determine the cause of death. No foul play is suspected.

(Willmar, MN) — A Willmar man has been sentenced to over seven years in prison for selling a man a lethal dose of fentanyl. 20-year-old Xavier Soto sold fentanyl to a man in January, which the man died from. Soto took a deal and pleaded guilty to third-degree murder. He must also pay $903 in restitution.

(Green Lake County, WI) — The search is off for a missing Wisconsin man as authorities believe he fled to Europe. The Green Lake County sheriff’s office says they are no longer searching for a missing kayaker – instead, they believe the man faked his own disappearance and may be living somewhere in Europe. 45-year-old Ryan Borgwardt was last seen on August 12th on Big Green Lake. Authorities believed Borgwardt had drowned and searched relentlessly for him for 54 days. Last month, investigators learned Borgwardt’s name had been checked by law enforcement in Canada the day after he disappeared in Wisconsin. Borgwardt had a second passport and had searched online about moving money to foreign banks.

(Woodbury, MN) — Woodbury Police are searching for an endangered, missing teen. 16-year-old Anlatayla Ames, who also goes by Tayla or Tay, was last seen leaving her Woodbury home on October 10th. Ames is described as black, 5 feet 2 inches tall, 130 pounds, with black hair and dark brown eyes. She last wore black sweatpants and a black cropped sweatshirt with a one-third zipper and collar. Ames is known to frequent the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, primarily around homeless shelters or bus lines. She has a right nostril piercing, one piercing in each ear, and a dark baseball-sized mark on the outside of her right thigh.

(Fargo, ND) — Fargo Police fatally shot a person this morning (WED). Officers responded to a report of a suicidal person in a Fargo residence around 10:50 a.m. The person was armed inside the house. After negotiation, the person came outside the house with a handgun, and the officers discharged their firearms. The person was pronounced dead at the scene. The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave. The investigation has been turned over to the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI).

(Minneapolis, MN) — This could be a record year for holiday shopping. The National Retail Federation says the average American shopper will spend 902 dollars this holiday season. That’s 25 dollars per person, more than last year. University of Minnesota Marketing Professor George John says the retailers will offer deals to get you into the stores. Still, he doesn’t see that one big seller everyone wants — “Must-have items whether it’s a toy or a piece of electronics. Apple brought out its iPhones earlier this year. It’s doing ok, but it’s not something you must have.” Professor John says the retail industry is out of the COVID slump, and consumer shopping should return to normal this holiday season.

(Minneapolis) – The City of Minneapolis is working to get the lead out of the water lines. Using state and federal funding, the city has started work to replace aging water infrastructure for property owners. Residents will soon receive a letter that will include the materials used in their lines and steps that can be taken to minimize lead exposure in their drinking water. The water service line is the pipe that runs from the water main in the street to the meter inside the property. Minneapolis water is tested hundreds of times daily to ensure it is safe to drink.
