>>St. Cloud Man Dies After High-Speed Chase

(St. Cloud, MN) — A St. Cloud man is dead after a high-speed chase late Monday night. Police say an officer clocked a car going 62 miles per hour in a 30 zone. The driver fled, crossed into the wrong lane, and later crashed into a parked truck and light pole. The 41-year-old man died at the scene. A 53-year-old man in the parked truck was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities say the suspect’s driver’s license had been canceled due to past driving conduct.

(St. Paul, MN) — Federal agents clashed with protesters this afternoon during a raid at the Bro-Tex facility in St. Paul. ICE says agents served a court-authorized search warrant as part of a federal criminal investigation. A pepper spray was deployed directly at protestors’ eyes. St. Paul Police say they were notified, but Mayor Melvin Carter says the city was not informed ahead of time. The raid comes amid heightened ICE activity in Minnesota. Officials reported more than 4,300 arrests in the Twin Cities this year. The investigation remains ongoing.

(Elk River, MN) — Three former Clear Lake city employees are facing felony charges after investigators say they stole nearly $200,000. Sherburne County prosecutors say former city clerk Kari Koren, former public works director Dustin Luhning, and former firefighter Chad Koren used city credit cards for personal expenses and claimed pay for hours they did not work. Officials say the scheme ran from late 2022 through 2023, using unauthorized credit card purchases and inflated payroll hours.

DEED’s Youth at Work Opportunity Grants Program serves youth of color and those with disabilities who are economically disadvantaged or considered to be at-risk. The program is for young people between the ages of 14-24 to help them find good-paying jobs in high-growth industries.

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Peace Action Coalition (MPAC) is holding a protest this afternoon outside Senator Amy Klobuchar’s office, calling for an end to U.S. military actions against Venezuela.
