(St. Paul, MN) — St. Paul Police are searching for a missing teen. 13-year-old Sanaya Dyslin was last seen leaving Children’s Hospital on October 15th. She’s described as black, 5 feet 4 inches tall, 105 pounds, with brown hair and black eyes. Dyslin was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, pajama pants, and light blue/gray Crocs with her hair in a ponytail. She has recently been seen around Downtown and along University Ave. in St. Paul. 

 

>>Fravel Doesn’t Testify, Defense Rests

(Mankato, MN) — Lawyers for Adam Fravel began and ended their defense to the jury today in Mankato. The prosecution concluded its case against Fravel yesterday after calling over 70 witnesses over ten days. In less than three hours, the defense called five witnesses. Fravel declined to testify in his defense. The jury was excused until Wednesday, when closing arguments and deliberations will begin. Fravel faces first- and second-degree murder charges following the discovery of Madeline Kingsbury’s body last year. 

 

>>Hutchinson Woman Dies in Snowy Weather Crash 

(Hutchinson, MN) — Out of the 169 crashes logged by the Minnesota State Patrol yesterday (from midnight to 2 p.m.) due to the slick and snowy weather, one was fatal. Troopers say around 10 a.m., 77-year-old Audrey Lankey of Hutchinson was heading east on State Highway 7 in Hutchinson when she collided with a westbound pickup. Lankey died at the scene. The pickup driver, 29-year-old Matthew Alberts of Eden Prairie, was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

 

>>Man Charged with Arson, Assault of Peace Officer in Connection to St. Paul Fires

(St. Paul, MN) — A 38-year-old man is in custody after allegedly starting fires in St. Paul this week. Vinai Hang faces charges of second-degree arson and fourth-degree assault of a peace officer. Hang is suspected of causing a fire in a 2009 Honda Civic around 8:50 p.m. Tuesday and an $800 portable bathroom earlier, which he had called 911 about twice. Hang was later found lying outside the Department of Human Services door in St. Paul, kicking at and spraying oven cleaner at officers. Hang was arrested, and officers seized many related items from his person, including clothes, five lighters, an empty gas container, flashlights, and a cell phone.

 

>>Former Albert Lea Basketball Coach, Counselor Admits to Sexual Relations with Student

(Albert Lea, MN) — A former girl’s head basketball coach and counselor for Albert Lea High School has admitted to a felony charge of a sexual relationship with a student. Police began the investigation in January 2022 after learning a 16-year-old girl and 35-year-old Richard Poelly were having sexual relations. The victim told investigators that Poelly and her were Snapchat friends, and she had accepted an invitation to his home to have sex. Poelly pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct on Thursday. His sentencing is in January. 

 

>>Misdemeanor Marijuana Possession Charges Fare for Different Housing Treatment in ND

(North Dakota) – As Minnesota chugs through the recreational marijuana process, neighboring North Dakota residents don’t share the same luxury, and it could affect their housing. Minot landlord and North Dakota House candidate Alexandra Deufel says a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge makes finding housing difficult, but legalizing it could ease the burden of getting home assistance for residents and out-of-staters looking to relocate. Deufel says the law would also help with North Dakota’s workforce shortage by making more housing available for incoming talent.

 

>>Sun Country at MSP Cuts Flights to 5 U.S. Cities

(Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN) — In Minnesota, Sun County Airlines is cutting service to five cities in the new year. This comes after the airline added multiple new routes and direct flights over the past couple of years, both national and global. Sun Country’s extended schedule through September 2025 through the Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) Airport no longer includes flights to Ashville, North Carolina, Billings, Montana, Cleveland, Ohio, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Omaha, Nebraska.
