(Edgerton, MN) — Authorities in Pipestone County are investigating the death of a woman in Edgerton. Sheriff’s deputies called to a domestic assault Saturday say they found a woman dead in the home and took a man into custody. They say there is no danger to the community. Investigators aren’t releasing any other information.

(Minneapolis, MN) — A St. Louis Park woman who was one of three shot at a Minneapolis homeless encampment on October 27th has died from her injuries. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office says 35-year-old Samantha Joe was hospitalized last Sunday with life-threatening injuries and pronounced dead Saturday. The two other victims, 32-year-old Louis Lemons Jr. of Brooklyn Center and 38-year-old Christopher Washington of Fridley, both died at the scene. 40-year-old Earl Bennett, the believed suspect, has only been charged in a separate October 28th shooting.

(Madison, WI) – Two people from Minnesota are among the five victims killed in a fiery crash Friday night south of Madison, Wisconsin. The Dane County Sheriff’s Office said those killed were a 55-year-old man from the Dane County Village of Belleville, a 55-year-old woman, a 54-year-old man from Crandon in northeast Wisconsin, and a 48-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. All five were killed when the 2016 Tesla Model S they were riding in left a road in the town of Verona, struck a tree, and burst into flames. The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the names.

(Brainerd, MN) — The Brainerd man who prompted an AMBER alert last week due to kidnapping a pregnant woman and her four children at gunpoint faces multiple charges. 35-year-old Chad Aanerud is charged with second-degree murder (2), criminal sexual conduct (1), kidnapping (5), first-degree arson (1), second-degree assault (2), and theft (1). Aanerud was arrested Friday after the kidnapping. Aanerud is said to have sexually assaulted the woman, threatened to shoot her children, stolen guns from another home, and lit it on fire. He also fatally shot 62-year-old Lyle Maske, who died at the scene.

(Rochester, MN) — A Rochester man faces felony charges for threat of violence after allegedly claiming to “shoot people” while at a local polling place. Police responded to the Olmsted County Government Center around 11 a.m. Sunday after an election judge reported the comments made by a man with someone else voting. 46-year-old Timothy Kearney was arrested and brought to Mayo Clinic Saint Marys Hospital due to being severely intoxicated.

(Minneapolis, MN) — A northern Minnesota man has been indicted for an illegal cryptojacking scheme. Court documents say in February 2020, 44-year-old Joshua Armbrust of Orr resigned from Digital River, a Minnetonka-based global e-commerce and payment processing company. From December 2020 to May 2021, he used his former employer’s accounts to mine cryptocurrency, leveraging Digital River’s hardware. Armbrust remotely accessed the company’s Amazon Web Services account, totaling over $45,000 in costs for Digital River. Amrburst made his initial court appearance Friday.

On Tuesday, Civil Rights Division personnel will be available all day to answer questions and receive complaints from the public.
