She was hitchhiking from Minneapolis to Chicago to see an art show and had been stabbed multiple times. In recent years, the Dunn County Sherriff’s office began working with a college in New Jersey, and through investigative genetics, they could ID Miller as a suspect. He is in custody and is awaiting extradition to Wisconsin.

Olivar killed Jose Fernandes during the robbery on December 13, 2023. The defendant is scheduled to be sentenced on January 17.

(Oak, MN) — A 16-year-old boy suffered minor injuries after rolling his pickup this morning (FRI) in Stearns County. Deputies responded to the crash just after midnight on County Road 11 in Oak Township, south of Freeport. The driver, Ethan Fischer, was heading north when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer, went off the road, and rolled twice into a ditch. He was treated for minor injuries.

(Windom, MN) — One man is dead, and a woman is seriously injured after a vehicle vs. semi crash in Windom Thursday. State Patrol responded to the crash around 6:30 p.m., learning a westbound semi and a southbound SUV collided at an intersection on Highway 60. The SUV driver, 74-year-old Terry Fredin of Windom, was pronounced dead at the scene. Fredin’s passenger and wife, 78-year-old Karen, suffered life-threatening injuries and was brought to a Sioux Falls hospital. The semi driver and his passenger, 30-year-old Eric Murcia of Springfield and 27-year-old Baylee Barsalou of North Sioux City, South Dakota, were unharmed.
