(St. Anthony, MN) — St. Anthony police are searching for a missing woman. 36-year-old Kesha Beverly was last seen in Falcon Heights around noon (TUES). She’s described as Black, five feet one inch tall, 120 pounds, with neon purple hair and brown eyes. Kesha was last seen wearing a black/gray top and bottoms.

>>47th Anniversary of Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness Act

(Washington, DC) — Minnesotans and conservation groups are celebrating the 47th anniversary of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness Act. President Jimmy Carter signed the landmark legislation on October 21st, 1978. It prevents logging, mining, and snowmobiles in the B-W-C-A, and limits motorboats in that area of the Superior National Forest. Friends of the Boundary Waters is asking people to help them continue to protect this “irreplaceable wilderness.”

 

>>Xcel Energy Names New Regional President

(Minneapolis, MN) — Xcel Energy has appointed Bria Shea (bree-ah shay) as its new regional president, overseeing operations in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
Shea has been with the company since 2008, serving in a variety of leadership roles, including customer service — a focus she says will continue in her new position. Shea says, “When I think of customer service, customer satisfaction, the two main components of that are affordability and reliability. Customers want their lights to be on, their power to be there when they need it, and they want it to be affordable.” Xcel Energy currently serves more than two million customers across the three states.

 

>>ATV Crash in Walnut Grove Injures One

(Walnut Grove, MN) — One person was hurt in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Redwood County. Deputies say a man failed to yield at an intersection in Walnut Grove, hitting a Polaris A-T-V and tipping it on its side. The A-T-V driver, Gary Pilaczynski of Walnut Grove, was taken to the hospital with a suspected injury. The vehicle driver was unharmed.

 

>>Wentz to Start at Quarterback for Vikings at Chargers Thursday Night

(Eagan, MN) — Minnesota Vikings quarterback Carson Wentz will make his fifth straight start in Thursday night’s game at the Los Angeles Chargers. Coach Kevin O’Connell told reporters today that J-J McCarthy is recovering well from his high ankle sprain, but “he’s not there yet.” McCarthy will be the emergency third stringer behind back-up quarterback Max Brosmer (BROHZ’-mur). Wentz threw two interceptions in Sunday’s loss to the Eagles and led the Vikings to just one touchdown on six trips to the red zone.

 

>>Minnesota Wild Launches High School Hockey Captains Program

(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Wild is honoring high school hockey leaders through a new Captains Program. Each month from November to March, one male and one female captain will be recognized for leadership, teamwork, academics, and community impact. The 10 honorees will receive a custom Wild jersey, social media spotlight, and tickets to the April 7th (7 p.m.) game against the Seattle Kraken. Coaches can nominate players at wild.com/captains.
