(Austin, MN) — A 17-year-old boy from Austin and a northern Iowa woman are the victims of a fatal crash near the state border in Mower County. The Minnesota State Patrol says 25-year-old Jacie Weaver of Rockwell, Iowa, was driving a transit van that collided head-on with a car driven by the teen late Tuesday morning on Highway 218. Both drivers died at the scene. State troopers haven’t released the boy’s name. The report says alcohol was not involved.

(Rochester, MN) — A Stewartville man has pleaded guilty to his role in a Rochester underage sex sting. 39-year-old Nathan Robertson is one of seven men to be charged in the undercover operation that began in April. Police say the men are accused of messaging a phone number attached to a fake ad and agreeing to meet to buy sexual acts from who they thought were minors. Authorities arrested all the suspects in Rochester when they came to the agreed-upon location. Roberston is scheduled to be sentenced in November. He’s the fourth defendant to plead guilty to one felony count of prostitution-actor hires of a minor under 18 but at least 16 years old.

(Austin, MN) — Both drivers were killed in a collision at an intersection south of Austin this morning in Lyle Township.(WED) 17-year-old Whin Gay of Austin was heading south in his car on Highway 218 and collided with a northbound transit van. Gay and the van’s driver, 25-year-old Jacie Weaver of Rockwell, Iowa, did not survive their injuries. Weaver was wearing her seat belt; Gay was not.

(Minneapolis, MN) — Measles has been confirmed at a Minneapolis elementary school. Minneapolis Public Schools didn’t name the school but did notify families if their kids could have been exposed. The State Department of Health has reported 59 cases in Minnesota this year, the most recorded since 2017. The CDC reminds residents that measles is highly contagious, and unvaccinated children who may have been exposed should be out of school for 21 days.

Filed in Ramsey County, the lawsuit alleges NV Realty PBC, LLC, its Minnesota chapter, and shared officer Amanda Zachman violated state consumer protection laws by concealing unfair terms in verbal sales pitches. The contracts were named “Homeowner Benefit Agreements” or “HBAs,” offering people up-front, easy cash, with the consumer’s only obligation being to use MV Realty as their relator for the future. The HBAs last 40 years, containing early termination fees, a $500 admin fee, a 6% commission for MV Realty, and more. The suit continues to say the company routinely enforces the agreements, going as far as suing dead homeowners’ relatives to stop the sale of an estate.

(Minneapolis, MN) — A man has been charged with the murder of a mother and shooting of a child in Minneapolis. Police responded to the incident on May 19th, where a mother and child were shot while sitting in a vehicle. The woman later died at a hospital. After four months of investigation, Ayale Abdullahi Ali was charged with second-degree murder with intent not premeditated on Wednesday. No other information was released.
