>>Former Border Agent Pleads Guilty to Possessing Child Porn

(Minneapolis, MN) — A former U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer from Minnetonka pleaded guilty today to possessing child pornography. Court documents say in 2022, 52-year-old Anthony Crowley was linked to explicit images uploaded through Kik, a messaging app. Investigators found child porn images and “child erotica” stories on his devices. Crowley remains in custody and faces sentencing at a later date. Special Agent in Charge Alvin Winston Senior of FBI Minneapolis says this betrayal of trust is “an egregious perversion of the honor, integrity, and lawfulness that should exemplify federal agents.”

(St. Paul, MN) – Several groups will mark the one-month anniversary of the Annunciation Catholic School mass shooting with a rally at the state capitol tomorrow morning. The “Don’t Look Away” rally will urge Governor Walz to call a special session to ban assault weapons. Members of the Annunciation community will be joined by Moms Demand Action, Students Demand Action, faith leaders, and medical professionals. The rally begins at 9:30 a.m.

(New Prague, MN) — Congresswoman Angie Craig is demanding answers from the U.S. Postal Service after reports that local newspapers aren’t being delivered on time in New Prague. She says the New Prague Times reports delays are hurting their small business and limiting access to local journalism. Craig demands that USPS leaders provide an update on the timeline for opening a new post office in the city. This comes a year after the Office of Inspector General (OIG) report unveiled widespread issues with USPS management in the state, citing nearly 10,000 pieces of delayed mail in the facilities they visited on just one day.

 

>>AG Ellison Stops Predatory Training Repayment Agreements at Salons

(St. Paul, MN) — Attorney General Keith Ellison says two salons in Eden Prairie and Woodbury used illegal training repayment agreements, or TRAPs, to charge employees up to 3,000 if they left within a year. The workers were already licensed, but the Deka Lash salons demanded repayment for company-specific training. Ellison says TRAPs trap workers in low-paying jobs and violate state labor laws. Under the settlement, both salons must release employees from TRAPs and repay nearly $760 in deducted wages.

>>Humphrey School Offers Accelerated Master’s Program for Peace Corps Volunteers

(Undated) – Fall 2026 will mark the first group of Peace Corps volunteers to enter the Humphrey School of Public Affairs’ new Peace Corps track. Director of the Master of Development Practice (MDP) Program, David Wilsey, says they wanted to create a shorter variant of the MDP program, allowing for completion in just 12 months instead of the traditional 21. The Peace Corps track honors the time, country, and training that volunteers undergo, which is typically 27 months at a minimum. Wilsey says the accelerated track is in sustainable development practice, offering courses in education, public health, agriculture, natural resources, biological science, policy, and economics.
