Recruiting and retaining quality employees is something many employers in the agriculture and agribusiness sectors struggle with. Paul Aasness , is executive director of the Minnesota AgriGrowth Council and says ” You know this is an issue that isn’t just unique to the agriculture sector but clearly when we talk about employee retention, hiring employees, and attracting candidates — it’s clearly an area of need.” Throughout the month of June, AgriGrowth will host four regional workshops in Mankato, Detroit Lakes, St. Cloud and the Twin Cities. Aasness says representatives of various state agencies and educational institutions will also take part “Because a lot of this as well is helping our education institutions get a better sense for what employers are looking for as they develop training and curriculum as they train the next generation.”
