The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has issued another air quality alert from St. Cloud, through the Twin Cities, south to Mankato, Rochester and down to Albert Lea. It will be in effect from noon until 8:00 tonight. Air Quality Index values are expected to climb into the low 100s in the alert area, which is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups. This would include people suffering from asthma or other breathing conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic bronchitis, and emphysema. Those under 18-years-old and those doing extended or heavy, physical activity like playing sports or working outdoors may also be affected by the conditions.
