Allina opening clinic in Springfield, where Mayo is closing hospital next year

Minneapolis-based Allina plans to open a new clinic in Springfield, the southwest Minnesota community where Mayo Clinic is closing its hospital and emergency department next year. Allina runs the hospital in New Ulm, about 30 miles east of Springfield. Officials at New Ulm Medical Center say the opportunity is “a comfortable fit for all of us.”
