While consumers deal with significant closures of many types of stores during the COVID-19 pandemic, Minnesota Grocers Association (MGA) President Jamie Pfuhl wants customers to know that “grocery businesses in your community are going to start changing their hours a little bit. we’re doing some of that to be mindful so that we can take some of those extra steps do just a little bit deeper cleaning, a little bit deeper sanitizing to make sure that when you do come to get your food that it is safe.” Pfuhl is urging consumers to keep in mind “when you think about that very first hour of service that [stores] are open, what we’d like to do when the stores are fully stocked and at their freshest, [is] to give a little extra consideration to those neighbors that are in need.” Pfuhl says that includes the elderly, healthcare workers and first responders.
