Hamline Univ. Professor David Schultz
A top political analyst says Republicans winning a Minnesota House seat long-held by Democrats in yesterday’s (Tues) special election in Bloomington could signal problems for the D-F-L this fall. Hamline University political science Professor David Schultz says we don’t know if this is an isolated incident, but if Democrats are having difficulty winning in Twin Cities inner-ring suburbs, given they’re not being successful in the outer rings, it “does not sound good for Democrats’… prospects come November.” Schultz says outcomes in races for six or seven seats will determine which party controls the Minnesota House, and the same for the state Senate.
